1. Drink plenty of
water to provide the fluids your body needs to keep your mouth moist.
2. Rinse your mouth with our dentist recommended oxygenating products
right before bedtime to moisten oral tissues before you go to sleep
3. Stop smoking! Remember, smoking dries the membranes of your mouth,
alters its pH and interferes with healthy saliva flow.
4. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Alcohol also dries oral tissues and
inhibits critical saliva activity.
5. Eat foods like carrots, celery, and other items that require lots
of saliva-generating chewing.
6. Avoid sleeping in a "flat out" position. It can block saliva flow
to your stomach while you sleep and lead to bad breath caused by reverse
stomach acid flow, or "acid reflux". Use a pillow to elevate your
head and shoulders so gravity and your saliva can work together.
